Thomas M. Hodgson is a law enforcement and corrections professional with decades of experience in public safety. He started his career as a police officer in Ocean City, Maryland, and rose through the ranks to sergeant, lieutenant and detective. He ran internal affairs and investigations at the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office before being appointed Sheriff in 1997, a post he’s held ever since after being reelected by his constituents four times.
Bristol County’s corrections facilities are among the best in the nation and hold national accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care and the American Corrections Association, the latter with back-to-back 100% scores on the last two audit inspections.
He lives in Dartmouth with his wife, Jo-Anne, and dog, Snuggles. He is a father of two and a proud grandfather of three.
